Joe Yew

Joe Yew joined Hilltop Securities in May 2012 as Director bringing with him more than 20 years of public finance experience in both the public and private sectors.

Joe specializes in the areas of general government both state and local government financing, as well as utility financing.  He also has local government consulting expertise in the areas of operating and capital budgeting; revenue forecasting and analysis; parking revenue controls; treasury management services; accounting; pension and OPEB; and other fiscal management services.

Joe’s public sector background covers over 15 years of professional experience in California state and local government, having recently served as the Finance Director/City Treasurer of the City of Oakland, and as the Finance Director for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.  He was also Assistant State Treasurer under the former State Treasurer Matt Fong.

His private sector experience includes work at De La Rosa and Stifel.

Joe earned a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of California at Irvine and a MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
